MSW Washington, D.C. Internship Program

Important Dates:

Field Education begins: Jan. 10, 2018
Field Education ends: April 27, 2018

Field Education Assignments:

Field assignments are based on: (1) Agency availability, (2) student concentration objectives, (3) student career goals, and (4) areas of interest. Assignments are developed by the Program Coordinator.

Work Schedule:

Five days a week, 40 hours per week. MSW students are required to have 500 hours of field education.

Spring Break:

Spring Break days are not scheduled in Washington because of the need to be available for field assignments. You may, however, take a maximum of five (5) personal leave days, subject to the supervisor’s approval, workload permitting.

Specific Courses Offered in Washington:

A. SW 595-005/255 Field Placement in DC (9 credit hours)

B. SW 501-005/255 Advanced Policy Analysis (3 credit hours) Class meets at the National Association of Social Workers, 750 First Street, NE, 7th Floor, Washington, DC

C. Electives: Online courses (3 credit hours)
