Support the School
Annual Giving
Since 1965, The University of Alabama’s School of Social Work has sought to integrate teaching, research, and outreach to increase knowledge of social problems and their solutions, to improve social conditions, and to advocate social justice and human dignity for all people. As the state’s only educational institution offering bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in social work, the School of Social Work instills in its students a lifelong devotion in improving human conditions through service to their communities at state, regional, and national levels.
We expanded out facilities to include state-of-the-art multimedia classrooms and a computer lab—enhancing our students’ skill acquisition and research capabilities. But the School’s major funding priority has been and continues to be scholarships for deserving students. Fully 90 percent of the students who apply for admission to the School also apply for financial aid. By becoming a member of the Social work Society and contributing to the School of Social Work’s Annual Fund, you can help strengthen social work education at The University of Alabama.

Social Work Society
The Social Work Society, an organization at The University of Alabama, is an affiliate organization of the Capstone Foundation. Its members--including alumni, concerned citizens, faculty, students, agencies, and corporations--support social work education at the University by increasing understanding, appreciation, and support for the goals, programs, and activities of the UA School of Social Work. Virtually all of the funds contributed through the society are invested in endowed scholarships.
Making an Endowed Gift
You can make an endowed gift to The University of Alabama that is designated for the School of Social Work, helping to ensure that the School will have the resources it needs to maintain a highly qualified faculty and staff, to stay on the leading edge of social work research and practice, and to produce graduates who will serve our state, region, and nation well as they endeavor to improve the human condition.
