School of Social Work Scholarships
Attention First-Year M.S.W. Students
Applications for second-year scholarships and stipends through the School of Social Work for 2009-2010 are due March 1, 2009. If you are interested in applying for a scholarship or stipend, please complete the Application for Stipends and Scholarships (For Currently Enrolled Students). Completed forms may be returned to Ms. Gwen Montgomery in 102 Little Hall or mailed to:
Dr. Kathleen Bolland, Assistant Dean
School of Social Work
Box 870314
Tuscaloosa, AL 35487-0314
Remember that, even if you received a scholarship or stipend this academic year, it does not mean that you will receive one next year and you must complete a new application each year. Only a few scholarships awarded in the first year of the program are automatically available to the recipient in the second year. There are also concentration scholarships that are only available to second year students, which will be advertised at a later time.
You should discuss with the Coordinator of Field Education, Ms. Barbara Chandler, the availability of stipends that are awarded by some second-year field placement agencies. These are not awarded through the Office of Student Services, but rather through the Field Education Office.
