Hill Crest Foundation Endowed Chair in Mental Health Research

The University of Alabama School of Social Work invites nominations and applications for its newly established Hill Crest Foundation Endowed Chair in Mental Health Research. Applicants should be eligible for appointment at the rank of full professor with tenure. We seek a colleague with a doctorate in social work or a related discipline, an exceptionally strong record of scholarship, national recognition in mental health, and a strong and continuing record of externally funded research.

The chairholder will be expected to continue to maintain a program of externally funded scholarly research. In addition, as is expected of all senior faculty members in the School, the chairholder will be expected to mentor and work collaboratively with faculty colleagues and doctoral students in their research programs.

The School of Social Work enrolls approximately 375 students in its B.S.W., M.S.W., and Ph.D. programs and enjoys excellent collaborative relationships with mental health agencies throughout the state of Alabama. Opportunities for interdisciplinary research within the University are strong as well. In addition to strong programs in Psychology, Nursing, and Community Health Sciences, the University’s research centers and institutes, including the Center for Mental Health and Aging, the Institute for Rural Health Services, the Institute for Social Science Research and other research centers provide rich opportunities for interdisciplinary research. Additional information about the School of Social Work and the University of Alabama is available at www.ua.edu.

Please send applications and nominations, including curriculum vitae, to:
