Background and professional experience
Miranda Goodwin received her MSW from The University of Alabama in 2012 with a focus on child and adolescent services. During the MSW program she gained further experience in child protection and foster care services as well as inpatient mental health services. Following graduation, Miranda began working at a community mental health agency, providing crisis intervention and transition services. She also has eight years of experience providing substance abuse treatment as well as individual, family and group services at an inpatient behavioral hospital, and completing outpatient adult assessment services.
Miranda obtained her LCSW in 2015 and PIP licensure in 2019. Her areas of expertise include: crisis intervention, trauma, eating disorders, mood regulation, stress management through modalities such as CBT, DBT, and EMDR. Miranda plans to address improving clinical services for the LGBTQIA+ population. This includes addressing gaps in mental health services, support, and access to care. Miranda is interested in improving access to mental health care through telehealth services.
