Bio

Haelim is a licensed social worker in the state of Alabama, with experience providing services to children/adolescents and families. Currently, she is working as a therapist, providing therapy services to community members at the University Medical Center.

Haelim comes into the program with a diverse research background. These areas include cognitive psychology, parent-child interaction, educational curriculum development, and substance use/addiction. In these areas, she designed research studies, coded, transcribed, and collected both qualitative and quantitative data. She presented her findings at numerous conferences and is currently in the process of writing manuscripts for publications.

Haelim’s interest in suicide prevention emerged from her professional and personal experience. Additionally, she is interested in help-seeking behavior among at-risk populations to provide further interventions related to suicide.
