Background and Professional Experience

Haelim is a recipient of the 2021 – 2022 UA Graduate Council Fellowship. Haelim comes into the program with a diverse research background. These areas include cognitive psychology, parent-child interaction, educational curriculum development, and substance use/addiction. In these areas, she designed research studies, coded, transcribed, and conducted data collections. She presented her findings in numerous conferences and is currently in the process of writing manuscripts for publications.

In addition, she has two years of experience working with children and families. Her interest in suicide prevention emerged from her professional and personal experience. She hopes to see an increase in equitable mental health services being offered in both urban and rural areas.
