Background and professional experience

Carmen Reese Foster, LMSW, LSSW, is an Assistant Professor of Practice and Online Field Coordinator at the University of Tennessee College of Social Work. Her social work practice experience has centered on Black youth and families in under-resourced communities. She is the CEO and Founder of the Coalition of Black Social Workers (CBSW), which is a non-profit that connects Black social work students with professional social workers of color for the purposes of engaging, connecting, and empowering the next generation of Black social workers. Carmen is the Chair of the Tennessee Statewide Field Consortium, and she is also the co-owner of Pieces Training and Consulting.
