Objectives of SSWCAB

  1. STUDENTS

    To support students in the School of Social Work, assisting in securing financial Resources.

  2. VISIBILITY

    To increase the visibility of the School of Social Work for audiences, donors, and supporters on a local, domestic, and international level.

  3. AWARENESS

    To extend awareness of social work practices and services through outreach and educational experiences for members of the wider community.

  4. ADVISEMENT

    To provide advice to the Dean of the School of Social Work (hereinafter the “Dean”) and school leadership on emerging needs, opportunities, and challenges, as well as current initiatives that are in line with the school’s strategic plan.

  5. STEWARDSHIP

    To assist the School in securing financial resources for the support of scholarships, discretionary needs, and program innovations.

    By supporting fundraising activities for the School of Social Work, board members of SSWCAB will help secure resources to expand opportunities for students and enhance the
    School’s impact.

  6. ADVOCATE

    To function as an advocacy group for the University and the School of Social Work.

Purpose of SSWCAB

The purpose of the University of Alabama School of Social Work Community Advisory Board is actively assist, support, and promote the School of Social Work and The University of Alabama.
