Bio

Destiny Thomas serves as the BSW Practicum Coordinator for The University of Alabama School of Social Work. In her role, Thomas oversees and produces the coordination of practicum placements for undergraduate social work students, ensuring they receive high-quality experiential learning opportunities that align with academic and professional standards. A key part of her role is bridging classroom instruction with field education, supporting students’ development into competent and ethical social work professionals.
   
Destiny is a Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of Alabama. Her professional experience includes areas of practice such as child welfare, federal policy, and hospice. Other areas of interest include higher education and transitional age foster youth. Destiny is pleased to be able to give back to her alma mater by helping to ensure that all social work students have access to an enriched learning experience.
