Free Application for UA BSW Students

If you are a UA BSW student with at least a 3.0 GPA, applying for the next available semester, and you fill out the UA MSW application correctly, a fee waiver will be applied. On the application, you will need to do the following:

  • Go to the “Program of Study” tab of the application.
    • Under “Applicant Attributes” select “Yes” to the question “Are you currently enrolled as a University of Alabama undergraduate student?” – This will bring up a new section called “Bachelor’s to Master’s”
    • Under “Bachelor’s to Master’s” select “Yes” to the questions “Are you seeking graduate admission in the same program as your current undergraduate degree?” and “Do you currently have at least a 3.0 overall GPA?” – This will bring up a new question.
    • Select “Not Applicable” to the “Are you applying to the AMP or Path to MBA program?” question when it appears.
    • Fill out the “Academic Program” information as normal.
  • Go to the “Academic History” tab of the application
    • Select “Add Institution” and add “University of Alabama” from the drop down list.
      • This step is very important, if you don’t add UA as your school, the waiver will not be automatically applied even if you answered all the other questions correctly.

If you follow all of the steps above, once you reach the “Application Fee” tab you should see a message that says, “Your application fee has been automatically waived. You do not need to submit a fee waiver code or payment.”
