MSW Program Tracks

Advanced-Standing Program

Our one-year, full-time Advance-Standing Program is for students who hold a bachelor of social work (BSW) from a CSWE accredited institution. Students may take courses on-campus or online starting in the summer. The online curriculum requires face-to-face orientation.

For admission requirements please visit Application Instructions. To obtain an MSW degree students must also:

  • Receive no more than one “C” in foundation courses, regardless of overall GPA.
  • Receive no more than one “C” in concentration courses (including electives) regardless of overall GPA.
  • No grades of “D” or “F” in any class regardless of overall GPA.
  • Completion of 42 hours of required coursework
  • 500 clock hours of a field experience with a social service agency related to their area of concentration.

Traditional and Online 60-Credit Hour Program

Students who hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university and who do not meet the Advanced-Standing criteria may apply to this degree option. This program is offered starting in the fall. The program is structured for students to take weekday classes on-campus or primarily online. The online curriculum requires face-to-face orientation.

For admission requirements please visit Application Instructions. To fulfill the 60 hour MSW degree requirements students must also:

  • Complete a total of 60 hours of required coursework.
  • No more than one “C” in foundation courses, regardless of overall GPA.
  • No more than one “C” in concentration courses (including electives) regardless of overall GPA.
  • No grades of “D” or “F” in any class regardless of overall GPA.
  • Complete two field internship 500 clock hours of field experience required.

Part-Time Program

The School of Social Work offers a part-time program for admitted students. Part-time plans are available for review after admission.
