Laura Langley Social Justice Student Award

The Langley Award is awarded to a student who has demonstrated a commitment to social justice and human rights.

The student receiving this award is selected by the executive board of the Social Work Association for Cultural Awareness (SWACA).   The award is open to all full-time students who are social work majors in good academic standing at The University of Alabama.  The student must have declared social work as their major.

Nominees can be self-nominated or nominated by other students, faculty, or staff. The nomination should include a brief summary of why this nominee should be the recipient of the award, including examples of how the nominee has demonstrated a commitment to social justice and human rights. Please submit nomination by March 13, 2021.

This award is to honor the memory of Laura Langley, an undergraduate social work student alumna who died in an automobile accident in the summer of 2012 shortly after her graduation.
