Background and Professional Experience
Nicole has worked with children and adolescents in outpatient, intensive outpatient, and residential settings, as well as domestic abuse victims and offenders. She has a strong research background in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. In 2016, she received a MSW Student Travel Scholarship from the Council on Social Work Education. Her research focus is studying self-esteem, acceptance and identity formation in individuals with physical disabilities and disfigurements and exploring their psychosocial challenges affecting mental health.
Volunteer work
Nicole has worked at the Hospital For Special Care in New Britain, Connecticut, in the hospital’s pediatric unit and two adult units. She co-facilitated with an early teens empowerment group an adolescent Dialectical Behavior Therapy and an autism spectrum social play therapy group.
