Dr. Tania Alameda-Lawson honored for community engagement research

Dr. Tania Alameda-Lawson, associate professor of social work, has received a premier award from the The University of Alabama’s Council on Community-Based Partnerships (CCBP) for her work in in the area of community engagement.

Dr. Lawson’s project Alabama TOPS will be recognized as an Outstanding Faculty/Staff-Initiated Engagement Effort for 2019.  This award includes recognition by the Council and funding support of $2,000 to aid in the continuation of her research.

She will be presented the award and recognized with other leaders of engagement scholarship initiatives during the university’s 13th Annual Awards Luncheon at 11 a.m.  Wednesday, April 17, 2019, in the Ferguson Student Center Ballroom. The luncheon will include a SCOPE Showcase at 8:30 a.m. followed by a poster display exhibition at 10:00 a.m. The Showcase and poster exhibition will feature community engagement projects involving UA and community partners.
