Bio
Terrell (He/him) has worked extensively with college students and the unsheltered population. Under the guidance of a faculty member, Terrell conceptualized and completed a qualitative study that investigated the mental health impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on student leaders attending Minority Serving Institutions (MSI) and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to guide University administrators on supporting student leaders during a pandemic or civil unrest. During his second year in the JMSW program, Terrell facilitated a training on culturally informed suicide prevention and interventions for young adults of color for NASW-NC Guilford County.
Terrell has experience in providing clinical services to college students, advising students, assisting the unhoused community with obtaining stable housing, and helping low-income families apply for public assistance. Terrell’s research focus is college-enrolled Black men.
