Background and Professional Experience:
Anthony is a veteran of the US Army, and received his Bachelor’s in Social Work from Portland State University. He obtained his Master’s degree in Social Work from The University of Michigan with a concentration in Social Policy and Evaluation; and Children, Youth and Families. He was selected as one of the 12 individuals to be a foster youth intern in Washington, D.C. for the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute. Anthony was published as part of this internship, with his publication regarding workplace support for case workers in the foster care system. Anthony spent years training foster parents and social workers as well as those who work in various systems about the realities and impacts of trauma, and the ways to help people cope with trauma. Anthony has also spent years working in direct service jobs from schools, homeless services, foster care, and local government.
