Statewide Dean’s Receptions Concludes with Stop in Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Aimed at establishing a network of supporters and introducing the new Dean of the UA School of School Work, Schnavia Smith Hatcher, PhD, concluded her statewide tour of Dean’s Receptions Tuesday evening in Montgomery, Alabama at the RSA Tower Building.

Previous stops in the journey around the state included Birmingham on Feb. 3, an on-campus reception in Little Hall on Feb. 18 and gathering during the Alabama Conference of Social Work in Orange Beach on Feb. 24.

“I am excited about the possibility of building and strengthening the School’s relationships in the community, focusing on being voices of positive change to end adverse social conditions and promote societal well-being,” said Hatcher.

A native of Selma, Alabama, Hatcher used the receptions to introduce herself to alumni and supporters of the UA School of Social Work around the state. She also explained her vision for the future of UASSW and expressed her excitement for returning to her home state to accomplish her mission.

While these specific statewide events have concluded, there will be ways to stay in touch with Dean Hatcher and the UA School of Social Work by following our various social media platforms.
