Carina Villarreal received the Horizon Award at the 13th Legacy Awards Banquet in the Sellers Auditorium of the Bryant Conference Center on Friday, Jan. 14, 2022.
Villarreal received her BA in Public Relations and Communication Studies in 2020, and was selected to be a MSW Washington, DC student, currently placed in Representative Karen Bass’s office (CA) on Capitol Hill. After graduation, Ms. Villarreal will work with Deloittle Consulting in the Government and Public Services Sector in Austin, Texas. During her time at UA, she has served in a variety of leadership roles, including director of multicultural affairs in the Student Government Association and president of the Hispanic Latino Association. A student assistant in the office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, she is passionate about social justice, activism and promoting cultural awareness.
