Bio
Retisha (Tish) Warr received her B.A. in Psychology from Texas Woman’s University in 2007. Tish worked in child welfare, juvenile court, and in various prisons in Colorado, Texas, and Alaska until 2015 when she went back to school for her MSW at the University of Alabama. During her undergraduate studies, she was a McNair Scholar and researched White racial identity development with Dr. Kenneth Foster and presented that research at the 2007 Association for Psychological Science Annual Convention. In her graduate studies, she served as a Research Assistant and completed two internships in the criminal justice setting. After completion of her MSW, she gained employment as a Licensed Master’s Social Worker. She has worked in a maximum security prison with men in solitary confinement, in a nonprofit organization performing case management with former-felons, in a nonprofit helping intellectually and developmentally disabled individuals, and at a rural clinic helping manage a Medication Assisted Treatment program. She is a recipient of the 2021-2022 McNair Scholar Graduate Fellowship.
